Harassment, Intimidation and Bullying
There is relatively new legislation regarding Harassment, Intimidation and Bullying (HIB). Our district has always taken student misconduct seriously, in all forms, and will continue to do so. We support the goals of the law and will fully implement its requirements. The legislation requires reporting of suspected HIB, investigation and determination of whether the behavior is HIB or not. It defines specific reporting and follow-up activities. Harassment, intimidation or bullying means any gesture, written, verbal or physical act, or technological threat whether it be a single incident or a series of incidents that takes place on school property, at any school sponsored function, going to and/or from school, or off school grounds that substantially disrupts or interferes with the orderly operation of the school or the rights of other pupils.

The district policy and contact information for the Anti-Bullying Coordinator is available on the district website. The High School Anti-Bullying Specialist is Mr. Bill Crispino.

He can reached at (201)-445 7700 or via email at .

Composting at GRHS
A pilot project for composting cafeteria food scraps and trays will begin at the GRHS the first week of October. The project is funded by a $2,000 grant by Sustainable Jersey for Schools. The program began last spring, led by Erica Jones, and will continue this Fall by Junior Emma Mangino.
A compost bin will be provided in the cafeteria for all compostable waste. It will continue for a trial period of 15 weeks total. Compost waste will be managed by the Community Compost Company and will be used to fertilize the Hudson Valley farms. Click Here for more information.
